Pea is one of the most common kind of legumes widespread in the world. Pea likes the cooler and well hydrated soils. Pea grow very quickly and brings the fruits within 60 days after planting.

 
Pea is rich in vegetable protein, sugar, fiber, vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, C, K, E, beta-carotene, valuable minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc etc.

 
Peas is known since Neolithic times, its origin is the Mediterranean region. Pea is one of the most constantly mentioned product in the medieval chronicles and texts. Peas are used in soups, puddings, pies, porridges etc. In many countries there are certain pea traditional dishes.

 
In the early 17th century Europe has discovered a new luxury – a green pea, called also a garden pea. The dishes of green peas appear at noble weddings, military conferences etc. Today green peas are produced either as a frozen or canned product.

 
In Ukraine peas are sorted by size and grade. Dry peas is the most common product for export. T is transported rather in containers with preliminary packing in sacks.
